The Click Here Trap

It is tempting to place your links around the words "click here" or "here." As you can see in the following example, it is difficult to see what the link is for when you do this.

• Click here for a document on birds.
• Click here for a document on cats.
• Click here for a document on dogs.
• Click here for a document on fish.

Instead, it makes more sense to place your anchors around words that describe the link. As you can see in the following list, it is much easier to see the link's subject when you do this.

• A document about birds.
• A document about cats.
• A document about dogs.
• A document about fish.
