TEXAS CPM GRADUATION HELD ON DECEMBER 13, 2010 AT THE TEXAS STATE CAPITOL

Newly Elected Legislator to the Texas House of Representatives

77 CPM Graduates from 5 Texas Universities Recognized

On December 13, 2010, the Texas CPM Program, offered by Texas State University’s William P. Hobby Center for Public Service, held its bi-annual CPM Graduation at the Texas State Capitol. Delivering the graduation speech was the Honorable Larry Gonzales, newly elected Legislator from Round Rock Texas. .
Graduates from Texas State University, The University of Texas at Arlington, Sam Houston State University, Stephen F. Austin State University, and the University of Texas at Brownsville were recognized and awarded their CPM Graduation Diplomas for completing the 14-21 month professional development and education program.  The Director of the William P. Hobby Center for Public Service and Texas CPM Program is Dr. Howard Balanoff.

One of the highlights of the graduation ceremony was the induction of 77 CPM graduates into the Texas CPM Alumni Society. The December 2010 CPM Graduation was very special because it was one of the largest classes to ever graduate from the Texas CPM Program. In addition, CPM Graduates received a Certificate from the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) confirming their CPM graduation along with their regular CPM graduation certificate.

After the graduation ceremony concluded, a reception for the CPM graduates and their guests was held in the Capitol Grill at the Texas Capitol.

In addition to the 18 graduates of the Texas State University CPM Program, the December 2010 graduates of the Texas CPM Program included 17 who graduated under the direction of the University of Texas at Arlington Program, 11 from the City of Houston CPM Program offered by Sam Houston State University, 3 from the Stephen F. Austin State University Program at Nacogdoches and 28 from the University of Texas at Brownsville CPM Program.

CPM GRADUATES ALSO RECEIVE ASPA CERTIFICATE

On June 14, 2010, the Texas CPM Program, which is offered by Texas State University’s William P. Hobby Center for Public Service, held its bi-annual CPM Graduation at the Texas State Capitol. Delivering the graduation speech was the Honorable Charley Stone, Executive Director of the Texas Department of Rural and Community Affairs and former County Judge of Refugio County. Mr. Stone is also an alumnus of the Texas CPM Program.

One of the highlights of the graduation ceremony was the induction of 52 CPM graduates into the Texas Alumni Society. CPM Graduates also received an ASPA Certificate confirming their CPM graduation along with the regular CPM graduation certificate.  After the graduation ceremony concluded, a reception for the CPM graduates and their guests was held in the Capitol Grill at the Texas Capitol.  In addition to the Texas State University CPM Program graduates, the June 10 graduates of the Texas CPM Program included those who graduated under the direction of the Texas A&M Corpus Christi CPM Program, 7 from the City of Houston CPM Program offered by Sam Houston State University, 2 from the CPM Program offered by the University of Texas at Arlington and 8 from the Stephen F. Austin State University CPM Program.
