The goal of this course is to provide information on exterior elements and associated components to aid the home inspector in evaluating the condition of components commonly encountered during a home inspection.
Upon completion of this course the student should be able to:
- Identify and describe common residential wall cladding systems and other exterior elements
- Inspect the exterior elements in accordance with home inspection industry standards
- Understand the common concerns and issues related to exterior elements
- Determine the physical condition of exterior elements
- Identify the presence of common exterior elements deficiencies
- Assess the significance of observed defects
- Utilize common reporting methods to inform a homebuyer of inspection findings
