Ways to market your business to students, faculty and staff

1.    Provide 3,000 business flyers to be included in the PAWS Preview goodie bags.  All new students (freshman and transfers) will receive a PAWS Preview Goodie Bag.  Please deliver flyers to the Office of Community Relations by Friday, August 8.

2.    Put “Welcome Back Texas State Students” on your business sign or marquee.

3.    Allow student organizations to decorate your storefront windows at Homecoming, October 12 - 18, 2008. Call Campus Activities for more information at 245-3219.

4.   Restaurants with sandwich menus can showcase their business at “Texas State Showdown” on Sunday, August 24 from 6 – 8 p.m. in the LBJ Student Center Mall. Call Campus Activities at 245-3219 for more information.

5.    Pick up (after August 1) “Welcome Back Texas State Students” kit at both Chamber offices or at the Texas State Community Relations Office. Kit includes an 11” x 17” color window sign and a calendar of major university and athletic events to help with marketing plans. 6.    Offer discounts to card carrying members of the Parents Association.  Your business will be listed on the Parents Association website and in the Discount Flyer distributed to all members.  Call the Parents Association for more information at 245-3525. 

7.     Offer discounts to university staff.  Your business will be listed on the "Staff Perks" webpage.  Email StaffCouncil@txstate.edu for more information.

8.      Offer discounts to student members of the Texas State Alumni Association Student Chapter.  Your business will be listed on the AASC website.  Call Alumni Relations at 245-2371 for more information.

9.      Request Texas State employee labels list to send a flyer or packet of information to a selected group of employees.  Prior approval and a fee to the Human Resource Department is required.  Call the Human Resource Office at 245-2557 or email at hr@txstate.edu for more information.  Obtain the request form at the HR Website.

10.    Have a booth on the Quad to hand out materials or sell merchandise to students. Or post flyers in high traffic areas.  Prior approval and fee from Campus Activities is required.  Call Campus Activities at 245-3219 for more information or learn more about solicitation at this website.

11.    Have a booth at the Family Round-Up event at Sewell Park during the annual Family Weekend held in the fall.  Call the Parents Association for more information at 245-3525.

12.    Become a Corporate Sponsor with the Athletic Department.  Your business will be listed on the Athletic Corporate Sponsor website as well as at different athletic venues.  Call the Athletic Marketing Department at 245-2114 for more information.

13.   Become a sponsor of Bobcat Build and have your business listed on the back of the event t-shirt.  3,000 students will receive a t-shirt and wear it year round.  Call Bocbat Build at 245-4245.

14.   Submit an ad to the University Star, the student newspaper.  Contact the Advertising  Director at starad1@txstate.edu or call 245-3487 for rates and information.

15.  Submit an ad to KTSW, the student radio station.  Contact the KTSW Promotions Director at 245-3816 or email ktswpromotions@txstate.edu.
