Texas State University staff and student volunteers prepare for the 10th Annual “Pack It Up and Pass It On” recycling collection with donations from hundreds of students moving out of resident halls that benefit clients of United Way agencies and keeps seven tons of reusable items out of area landfills. Mayor Daniel Guerrero proclaimed “Pack It Up Day” and honored students who work with the program that assists more than 1,000 needy residents every year. Local residents wanting to donate items can call TxSt Community Relations to make arrangements for drop-off.
