Tour Requirements and Conditions:
• Wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes.
• Bring jacket or umbrella incase of inclement weather.
• Back packs and other handheld materials can be left in an UNLOCKED room.
• Inform Community Relations 72 hours in advance how many students & teachers will be coming – to order meal tickets. Parents will pay $5 for their meal.
• Inform Community Relations of any attendee that needs special accommodations (wheelchair, crutches). This is a walking tour. The university does not provide wheelchairs.
• A teacher and/or parent volunteer must accompany student groups at all times.
• Buses will drop off at a location and leave. Buses are not allowed to stay on campus. Parents can park in the LBJ Student Center and will be responsible for paying.
• If any supervised free time is allowed, teachers and/or parent volunteers will be responsible for their group.
• Commons Dining Hall is an all-you-can-eat cafeteria. There is no reserved seating. You may have to eat with other people. Please prepare the students in dining hall etiquette and encourage them to limit what they eat and only take what they can reasonably eat. Students will also have to take their dirty trays once they are finished to the tray return.
• Some tours are not scheduled to go to the bookstore. Students do not need to bring money. If students/teachers and their parents wish to go to the bookstore, they will do so on their own, separate from the sponsored tour.
• It’s recommended to have 1 chaperone (teacher or parent) per 10 students.
• Students should be prepped in the areas they are visiting and are encouraged to prepare questions before the tour.
• Students should also be aware that the areas we’re visiting are operating offices and there may be official business being conducted while touring the area.
• Conversations about etiquette and behavior are encouraged prior to your visit.
