On Wednesday, December 13, 2006 Texas State’s Bobcat Build Student Planning Organization will hold a press conference to announce ten city projects that have already been scheduled for the big service day on March 31, 2007.
The press conference will begin at 2 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers with speakers including Bobcat Build student leaders and city and university officials such as Bobcat Build Student Director Nancy Tunell, Texas State University President Dr. Denise M. Trauth, City of San Marcos Mayor Susan Narvaiz, and United Way of Hays County President Earl Moseley.
The event kicks off the site applicatin process.
Bobcat Build invites anyone wishing to learn more about this community outreach program that brings together 3,000 students who work to help beautify the local San Marcos area through numerous service projects, to attend.
Speakers will reveal city projects already accepted for the upcoming service event as well as previous year’s success stories.
Sponsors that help make Bobcat Build’s success possible will also be announced along with several Texas State student organizations that volunteer their time to lend a hand to their community.
“We are excited to hold the press conference in hopes of spreading awareness throughout the San Marcos community and the Texas State campus. It’s also a great chance for community leaders to mingle with Texas State students who work so hard for this annual event,” said Nancy Tunell, Bobcat Build Student Director.
