The 2013-2014 Common Experience, Minds Matter: Exploring Mental Health and Illness, is intended to stimulate a campus-wide conversation that will help students and members of the community think more deeply about the complexities of mental health issues and how they impact our society. Up to $500 in funds are available per event related to the 2013-2014 Common Experience. Funds are awarded on a competitive basis to members of the Texas State community (including chartered student organizations or registered student organizations applying through a department).
Please submit a proposal for each event you wish to host to Joe.Meyer@txstate.edu by September 15, 2013.
Proposals will be evaluated on:
· Relevance to the Common Experience theme (20 points)
· Diversity of audience interest in the topic (20 points)
· Amount of co-sponsor support (20 points)
· Opportunities for audience participation (20 points)
· Potential for continued dialogue on the topic (12 points)
· Thoroughness of the publicity plan (8 points)
Please note that all funded applicants are required to provide a one-page report to the Committee within one month of the event that evaluates attendance and participation using the attached form.
