Honors Studies Minor Checklist

This checklist is for advising purposes for BGS students only.


Consult your undergraduate catalog or official degree audit for degree requirements.

  • Twelve advanced hours in the minor coursework are required for the BGS.
  • A 2.25 cumulative GPA must be maintained in all minor courses.
  • No grade lower than a ā€œCā€ will be accepted as credit for BGS minors.
  • Course rotation indications are intended to be used for planning purposes and do not guarantee course availability. "F" indicates "fall," "S" indicates "spring," and "Su" indicates "summer" availability.
  • "Advanced" = Junior/Senior-level (3000-4000) coursework (Prerequisites may be required)
  • Of the advanced courses, a maximum of 2 may be Honors Contract courses.
  • A maximum of 3 Honors courses may be counted to satisfy both General Education Core curriculum requirements and the minor in Honors Studies.

A 3.25 GPA is required to maintain membership in the Honors College.

  • _____ HON 4390A (WI) - Senior Seminar: Thesis Development or another advanced Honors course, with prior approval
  • _____ HON 4390B (WI) - Honors Thesis BGS majors who are also Honors College students should meet jointly with representatives from both the BGS program and Honors if interested in substituting HON 4390B for GNST 4350.
