Program Admissions

Master of Education in Student Affairs in Higher Education

Now accepting applications for Fall 2024 admission.

The priority application deadline for Fall 2024 admission is January 15, 2024. The priority deadline is for first-consideration for admission and first-consideration for fellowships, scholarships, and graduate assistantships.

Although the priority deadline for Fall 2024 has passed, currently spots remain in the cohort. Thus, we encourage you to submit an application as soon as possible, and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis on a first-come, first-served basis until the cohort is full.

    • If you encounter issues with the online application process please reach out to Texas State University's Graduate College at gradcollege@txstate.edu for assistance.
    • GRE scores are not required for admission into the program. This change was effective as of the Fall 2019 application cycle.

  • The following transcripts should be submitted as part of the application process:

    • Copies of official transcripts of all college and university course work should be submitted to The Graduate College.  This includes any institutions where you enrolled in courses toward your degree including community colleges. Instructions on how to submit the transcripts are included in the Application to the Texas State Graduate College.
      • Note: If you are currently a student (i.e., enrolled in courses) we will need transcripts that reflect your most recent semester (i.e. Fall) coursework. If you apply for the program prior to the end of the Fall semester, submit a transcript at that time. In addition, please submit the most updated copy of your transcript as soon as Fall grades are posted.
      • Note: If you are a Texas State University degree recipient or are currently enrolled at Texas State, please request transcripts from any colleges NOT listed on your Texas State transcript. The Graduate College will provide your Texas State transcript to the admissions committee for you.

We highly recommend you request transcripts be submitted to the Graduate College at least 2 weeks prior to the program application deadline.

  • You will upload a current professional resume and a statement of purpose in the application system. Guidelines for these two documents are provided in the links below:

  • Three recommenders—at least two of whom know you professionally—should submit a recommendation for you. We encourage applicants to choose at least one recommender who knows you in an academic context (such as a faculty member) and at least one who knows you in a student leader or workplace setting (such as an advisor, mentor, or supervisor). You will provide names and contact information for each recommender in the Application to the Texas State Graduate College, and your identified recommenders will receive an email with directions on how to submit their recommendation.
