Application Process
Submit the following directly to the Graduate College:
1) Completed Graduate College Application for Admission
2) Application fee of $40
Request that the following be submitted directly to the Graduate College:
3) Official transcripts of all college and university course work
4) Official report of scores obtained within the last five years on the Graduate Record Exam (GRE), School Code 006667
We recommend you have all materials to the Graduate College at least 3 weeks prior to the Program application deadline. Incomplete packets will not be accepted or considered.
Step Two: Application to the Student Affairs in Higher Education Program
The following materials will also be submitted to the Graduate College.**

Recommendation Forms Have three people—at least two of whom know you professionally—complete the program Recommendation Form, which includes a recommendation letter. Your recommenders should complete the required recommendation form, seal and sign on the seal, and
submit them to you. Faxes will not be accepted.
Incomplete Program application packets will not be reviewed or considered for admission and will be destroyed after one calendar year.

Admission Policy
Each year, the admissions committee recommends 15 to 20 new students for admission to the student affairs in higher education program for the fall semester. The program is identified as cohort-based and full-time. Students will attend all classes together as a group until they graduate from Texas State.
Applicants will be reviewed holistically, and the following material and criteria will be considered in the decision process:
Once all admissions materials are received, the admissions committee will review all applications in full. After the initial review of applications, qualified applicants will be invited to campus during the spring semester for in-person interviews for the program and for open graduate research assistantship positions. The interview days are February 25th and 26th.
Transcript Requirements
If you are a Texas State University-San Marcos degree recipient or are currently enrolled at Texas State, please request transcripts from any colleges NOT listed on your Texas State transcript. The Graduate College will provide your Texas State transcript to the admissions committee for you.
If you are not a Texas State University-San Marcos degree recipient or are not currently enrolled at Texas State University-San Marcos, one official transcript from each post-secondary institution attended is required. These transcripts must be mailed directly from the university or college attended or submitted in a sealed university envelope with the university registrar's signature or stamp on the back of the envelope.
