Dr. Patricia L. Guerra is an Associate Professor in the Education and Community Leadership Program at Texas State University where she teaches courses in social justice leadership and culturally responsive instructional supervision and school improvement. Previous to this position she was Co-Director of the Leadership for Equity and Access Project based at the University of Texas at Austin, worked as a research associate at the Southwest Educational Development Laboratory (SEDL), and served as a school leader and educator. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Ph.D. in Educational Administration, Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction and Bachelor’s in Deaf Education. Her research interests focus on issues of equity and culturally responsive schooling and leadership. In addition to her work at the University, she works with educators in the field to develop culturally responsive schools and classrooms.
