Süd-Chemie Inc., a global leader in industrial catalyst manufacturing has immediate openings for Chemists in our Research and Development Departments at our United States Headquarters in Louisville, KY. Our current openings offer excellent opportunities for growth while working in our state of the art laboratory facilities.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry with at least a 3.0 GPA.
- 0-5 years of hands on experience.
- Very good mechanical aptitude and familiarity with various laboratory equipment.
- The ability to keep and maintain a detailed laboratory notebook.
- The ability to be flexible and work in a team oriented environment.
- The ability to safely conduct experiments. .
- Excellent written, communication, technical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent computer skills including MS Office, spreadsheets and databases. SAP, SQL, and LIMS are highly desired but not required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Testing and developing selective Hydrogenation Catalysts and collaborating in the research and development of new products.
- GC analysis, calculation and analysis of test results, and preparing project reports.
- Troubleshooting of test units and GC’s, solving test problems with the assistance from group members and maintenance.
- Perform chemical analysis of samples as needed by production.
- Maintain a detailed laboratory notebook.
