Areas of interest of the Biomaterials and Nanomedicine laboratory include biomaterials, drug delivery systems, nanotechnology-based contrast agents for bioimaging, and biosensors. Current research focuses on the development of polymeric and hybrid nanoparticles for the detection and treatment of cancer and other diseases. Applications include contrast agents for multifunctional bioimaging,  in vitro and in vivo biosensors, intracellular drug delivery, targeted drug delivery, externally controlled delivery systems, and gene delivery.
