Responsibilities
The successful
applicant will be expected to teach advanced undergraduate and
graduate courses in the
Civil War and Reconstruction eras as well as freshman
survey courses in U.S.
History. The appointee will be expected
to be active in
the development of
departmental programs and governance and maintain active
research and
professional development programs.
Qualifications
Required:
Expertise in
Civil War and Reconstruction eras (1850’s-1870’s) as demonstrated
by dissertation
work and/or research and publications; college level teaching
experience; Ph.D. in
History in hand by appointment date.
Preferred:
Expertise in
political economy, race relations, reform movements, and/or some
aspect of quantitative
methods.
