Members present:  Terence Parker, Jonnie Wilson, Becky Woodson, Jackie Cooper, Dr. Elvin Holt, Dr. Lauri Fluker, Dr. Sheri Benn, Vincent Morton, LaTonya Henry, Dr. Joanne Smith, unknown

 

VISION:   To promote togetherness, develop a strong unified body, and gain recognition within the SWT and surrounding community.  Empower and encourage other faculty and staff to be about the coalition.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

• Discuss Dr. Fluker’s situation concerning her return to SWT

DISCUSSION ITEMS:

1. Dr. Fluker expressed her employment and diversity concerns to the Coalition after meeting with Dr. Gratz.  She explained her entire situation to the Coalition and disclosed information about the dialogues between herself, Dr. Gratz, Dr. Cheatham, and Ron Brown with regards to a position at SWT.

 

ACTION ITEMS

1. A letter is to be drafted by Dr. Smith, Dr. Benn, and Vincent Morton to Dr. Trauth explaining the situation with Dr. Fluker. 
2. A meeting with Dr. Trauth, Dr. Gratz, Dr. Cheatham, Ron Brown, the Coalition of Black Faculty and Staff, and Dr. Fluker is trying to be planned to discuss the employment and diversity issues at hand.
3. Dr. Fluker will supply the Coalition with a chronologically ordered list of the incidents that have occurred since her departure from SWT and any correspondence between herself, Dr. Gratz, Dr. Cheatham, and Ron Brown.
4. The Coalition will make an open records request to retrieve all information concerning the recent job search involving Dr. Fluker and two other candidates (Rebecca and Pam).
