Tara's Thoughts on Texas State
Why Texas State
I always knew that I wanted to go to Texas State. It’s between two great cities, Austin and San Antonio, and I knew that it has a good
fashion merchandising program. I also chose to go here because both of my cousins went here, and they were always telling me how much they loved it!
Why Fashion Merchandising
I love clothes and have always had a passion for the fashion industry.
Goals
After I graduate in 2008, I hope to attend graduate school for a master of business administration. I would like to become a head buyer for a high-end department store.
Favorite Professor
My favorite professor is Dr. Sharon Welkey. She is an amazing teacher who has a passion for what she does. She is not only extremely knowledgeable about the fashion industry, she is also truly compassionate about her students’ futures.
Best Studying Advice
First of all, go to class! Many professors create their exams from their lectures. You should also read all the chapters and highlight the points that you think are the most important. Finally, study your in-class notes, and you should do great on the exams.

Best Food on Campus
Commons is the best dining hall because it has a salad bar, which is nice when you want to eat something healthy.

You will love it! It is so much fun. You will get a great education no matter what major you choose, you will make great friends, and it is probably the best location to go to school in Texas.
