Leslie's Thoughts on Texas State
Why Texas State
Texas State offers a wide variety of majors and so many opportunities, yet it maintains the friendly feel of a smaller school. I was not sure what my major would be before I started my undergraduate degree here, but I knew that by coming to Texas State I would be able to pursue most anything I wanted.
Career Goals
I started a graduate program at Texas State in fall 2007, and I should graduate with my Master’s of Accountancy in 2009. I then hope to become a certified public accountant and work for one of the larger public accounting firms.
Best Studying Advice
It is so important to avoid procrastinating. We all do it to some degree, but the more time you give yourself to prepare for exams, the more confident you’ll feel and the better off you’ll be.

I get to meet a lot of people and truly feel like a part of the Texas State community.
What I do for Fun
Any of the restaurants in San Marcos are really fun places to hang out at and meet friends. I love Mochas & Javas. It’s a really comfortable coffee shop located just outside of campus. And, of course, San Antonio and Austin are only a short drive away.
What I Tell Future Texas State Students

You can do some great things with a degree from Texas State. The academic curriculum is challenging, but if you put in the time and effort, you will learn and excel.
