Julius' Thoughts on Texas State
Why Texas State
I visited Texas State while on a “college visit” day in high school. I fell in love with this place and all the other options just couldn't compare. So naturally, I chose the best.
Why Communication Studies
I started with a major in mass communication, but then I realized that I am more interested in speaking with people and learning how to communicate in more personal environments. So I changed to
communication studies.
Favorite Professor
Mike Cornett. I had him for Introduction to Interpersonal Communication. He was super cool, super laid back and always kept class interesting. His class was informative and fun to go to.

Diversity! I have learned the importance and value of being aware of diversity and embracing it on a daily basis.
My Best Studying Advice
Use the library’s personal study rooms, which are quiet and help you avoid distractions. They’re open 24 hours during finals.

LBJ Achievement Scholarship What I Do for Fun
There is usually something new going on every day at Texas State, like football tailgates, basketball games, the
KTSW Lunchbox events in the LBJ amphitheater and the
SACA poetry slams. I try to go to as much stuff as possible.
What I Tell Future Texas State Students
