Joshua's Thoughts on Texas State
Why Texas State
I visited the campus my senior year of high school; the people were amazing!
Accounting has taught me valuable analytical skills. The faculty in the business school has really put forth a great effort in seeing that my educational needs are met.
I hope to become an attorney.
Favorite professor Dr. John McGee
. He encourages his students through friendly and competitive learning. Everyone wants to be No. 1 in his class.
My Most Valuable Learning Experience
at Texas State
I learned my freshman year that time management is key to effective learning. I had to understand that there are 24 hours in a day!
Best Studying Advice
Read, read and read! Study in an environment that suits your learning needs. Ask yourself, “Do I study better with people or in isolation?” I often study on the fourth or seventh floors of the library.

Why I’m Involved at Texas State
Clubs and organizations help me develop friendships with students who have similar passions and interests. I have made some of my best friends through my involvement with groups like NABA.
Best Campus Hangout George’s
. I go to study, watch football games on the giant TV screen, play pool, or even share a special moment with a friend.
Best Campus Restaurant or Dining Hall
I like to eat at Jones Food Court
. They have several healthy food choices. I love the toasted turkey sandwich on wheat with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and both mayo and mustard.
Where To Go to Relax
I like to view the beautiful scenery of San Marcos from the top level of my apartment complex’s parking garage. At night, the city of San Marcos lights up wonderfully. I think the stars seem to shine brighter in the Hill Country.
