Jesus’ Thoughts on Texas State

Why Texas State?

It’s about more than academics. Attending Texas State gives you a complete and well-rounded education. You learn about and experience leadership, friendship, humbleness and a feeling of belonging here.

Why Engineering, Math and Business?

When Texas State announced it was starting a school of engineering in fall 2007, I decided to change my major to industrial engineering. While I was waiting to take my engineering courses, I decided to get a minor in math and a minor in business, with a concentration in entrepreneurial studies.

Career Goals

I want to graduate with my bachelor’s, get a master’s degree, go back to Mexico, run my family business, and then start my own business.

What I Do for Fun

Play and watch soccer, spend time and go out with friends and family, go to the youth group at church, lead the Institute of Industrial Engineers, and travel around the world.

My Organizations

International Student Association
Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society
Institute of Industrial Engineers

Why I am Involved at Texas State

I gain work experience and can listen to guest speakers who help me make connections to real-life jobs. I also enjoy the opportunity to meet people and make new friends, learn about other cultures, and have a great time.
