Javier's Thoughts on Texas State

Why Texas State

I chose Texas State because of its growing reputation as a great school and its proximity to my hometown.

Why Business Management

Since an early age I have had an interest in selling and becoming a leader. I was given the nickname “Businessman” in elementary school, and majoring in business management gives me the flexibility to pursue a career in selling and an opportunity to become a leader in the business environment.

Career Goals

To be successful wherever I am working and to obtain an overseas assignment.

How My Major Will Help Me Reach My Goals

My classes in the McCoy College of Business Administration have given me the essential theory necessary to apply in real-world situations.

Favorite Professor

Dr. Janet Hale has been a great mentor and has helped me tremendously to become a better student.

Best Studying Advice

If you buy the textbooks you should definitely use them. Reading is the best way to study.

My Clubs and Organizations

Hispanic Business Students Association
INROADS
Hombres Unidos

Why I'm Involved at Texas State

Each organization has been fundamental to my professional and social development. With HBSA and Hombres Unidos I was able to find a family here at Texas State and INROADS gave me the opportunity to intern at IBM for two consecutive summers.
