Brice’s Thoughts on Texas State
Why Texas State
A friendly campus, multiple ways to get involved, and an affordable price are all reasons I chose Texas State. Other universities didn’t have the small campus feel that Texas State possessed which helped me make the decision to “be a Bobcat.”
Why Business Marketing
You are always marketing something. Whether you’re marketing your ideas in a presentation or marketing yourself in an interview, studying this field seemed the most beneficial for my future business career. The content and team projects in courses like Consumer Behavior, Promotional Strategy, and Professional Selling, have all given me solid foundations for not only a career as a marketer, but also a competent businessman.
Career Goals
I plan on pursuing a position within a leadership development program at a large corporation while attaining my MBA at Texas State. My ultimate career goal is to become the CEO of a Fortune 500 Company.
Favorite Professor
Ms. Vicki West is definitely one of my favorite professors at Texas State. As a professor with “real word experience,” her courses of Professional Selling and
Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) have improved my business skills in unimaginable ways. From dressing for success to taking initiative, her lessons have been instrumental in both our SIFE team’s victories and my collegiate success.

What I like Most About Texas State
I like being at a “large campus, with a small campus feel.” Being a large university of nearly 30,000 but also being in a small town, creates an environment that promotes a welcoming and sociable student body. This feeling made it very easy to make friends when I arrived at Texas State.
