Ashley's Thoughts on Texas State
Why Texas State
I chose the university for several reasons, but my top three are the beautiful campus, the programs offered, and the fact that Texas State is a small university packed with prestige!
Why Political Science
I come from a family that has been active and interested in politics, and I enjoy learning about political issues and government.
Political science and
criminal justice classes expose me to theories and laws, and explain so many questions I have about our government and the foundation of our country.
Career Goals
I plan to graduate from Texas State with honors and then attend law school. After receiving my law degree I would like to pursue a career in the field of justice.
Best Studying Advice
Take the time to find a study environment that suits you. Studying in a quiet environment works best for me. Although the
library has great resources, I usually study in my room or in one of the various study rooms on campus.

Who’s Who – Texas State University
What I Like Most About Texas State
The advisors here genuinely care about the students and work with us until we find what we like regarding our major, minor and organizations. The friendly environment sets this campus apart from others I visited. I come from a city, and San Marcos has an old-town feeling that flows through the campus, providing experiences I could never get back home.
What I Tell Future Texas State Students
Go on just one
campus tour. The university speaks for itself!
