Dre's Thoughts on Texas State

Why Texas State

I chose Texas State because of its proximity to major cities and its wealth of great people. I knew there was something special about Texas State, and I wanted to be a part of it.

Why Business

Even though the McCoy College of Business Administration can be challenging, I felt I would gain a lot of useful knowledge and skills that could help me achieve my career goals.

Career Goals

After I graduate I want to get a master’s in the Sport Management Specialization area and one day purchase a National Football League franchise.

How My Major Will Help Me Reach My Goal

With a bachelor’s in business, I can learn how to successfully manage a football stadium and franchise.

My Typical Class-Day Schedule

I wake up at 5:45 a.m. to catch a good workout. At 8:30 a.m. I head to Commons for a delicious omelet and a glass of apple juice. I study until 12:30 p.m., when I go to my first class. Following my last class at 3:30 p.m., I catch up with friends, and we usually hang out in each other’s rooms.

Best Studying Advice

Knock out the studying early so when tests come around you’ll be confident. You can relax instead of worrying or coming up with last-minute questions.

My Organizations

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.
Black Men United
The Impact Movement

Best Campus Hangout

I hang out in the Quad. You’ll see all your friends, plus the plethora of beautiful people we have here on campus.

Favorite San Marcos Hangout

Pluckers, for the all-you-can-eat wings. Need I say more?

Where I Go For Fun

I head to the driving range, the bowling alley or the LBJ Student Center, where there is always something going on.

What I Like Most About Texas State

The great people at Texas State make the campus a great place to be. The staff, faculty and students make the university different from any other and prove we are the rising stars of Texas.

What I Tell Future Texas State Students

Texas State is great place to meet great people and sharpen your mind. If you value academic success, social development and spiritual growth, sign the application and send it in.
