SASI Marching Camps

June 15-18, 2014

Texas State’s marching camps are administered by SASI of Austin, Texas. These camps are designed to foster performance and leadership skills in two critical positions within the contemporary high school marching band — the Drum Major and Colorguard.

Participants receive intense instruction on an individual and group basis from regionally and nationally known clinicians. A demonstration in each area is presented on the last day of camp.

SASI Drum Major & Leadership Clinic

The SASI Drum Major and Leadership Clinic is for students who will be drum majors in 2014 or who desire to be a drum major in the future. Further, this camp caters to the entire student leadership staff of the high school marching band due to SASI’s comprehensive curriculum! Students assuming the role of rank or section leader should give great consideration to enrolling in the leadership track of the camp.

The curriculum includes extensive training in areas such as conducting, marching fundamentals and leadership. The SASI camp is recognized throughout the United States as one of the finest and most individualized camps of its kind.

The camp is led by Jeremy Spicer, Director of Bands at Vandegrift High School in Leander ISD and Director of Student Leadership for SASI.

SASI Colorguard Camp

The SASI Colorguard Camp is designed for students with varying levels of proficiency. It features a fresh approach to performance in movement, dance, weapons and flags. Participants are grouped by ability level and learn routines specially designed to develop individual skills for the busy marching season ahead.

The lead instructor for the guard is Candice Partridge, Vision Dance Company Driector at Vandegrift High School in Leander ISD and Senior Dance Performance/Education major at Texas State University.

This is the only SASI colorguard camp in 2014!!
