| The Texas State University Percussion Camp is a perfect way to gain an advantage for the fall marching season, spring concert ensemble, and the U.I.L solo and ensemble competition. The camp is open to middle school and high school students. Students must have completed one year of percussion instruction to participate in the camp. High School participants of this camp are placed into drum lines based on ability. Students will work on exercises and cadences that prepare them for the demands of the modern drumline. Students need to bring their own instruments: snare, tenors, bass, carrier, drum stand and sticks/mallets. High school students may choose a symphonic track and therefore not participate in the marching drumline. Keyboard instruments, steel drum band, Latin percussion and drum set equipment are provided by Texas State University. Texas State University faculty members, Genaro Gonzalez, Kari Klier, Butch Miles, Bobby Lopez and John Lopez will serve as instructors for the camp, in addition to percussion clinicians from around the state. Guest artists include: Murray Gusseck – marching percussion Arthur Lipner – vibes Ignacio Berroa– drum set | ||
