Become a Member!
Texas State University has experienced tremendous growth over the past several years, and it is important for new students to find their place within the university community. As a member of the Bobcat Marching Band, you will be surrounded by students with similar interests who will soon become lifelong friends. The band truly possesses a family atmosphere, a support system on which one can rely throughout their college career. You DO NOT need to be a music major to join any of the bands at Texas State, and everyone with an interest in continuing to perform is encouraged to participate.
The Bobcat Marching Band now offers SCHOLARSHIPS.
Brass and Woodwinds
Brass and woodwind players with high school band experience are admitted without preliminary auditions. Complete the Interest Form below. If you have further questions, please contact Dr. Caroline Beatty, Director of Bands at ccbeatty@txstate.edu.
Register for BMB when you register for classes, Attend Preseason Camp a week and 1/2 before Fall Classes Begin.
Percussion
Percussionists (battery and front ensemble) are placed by audition. Please email our percussion coordinator, Kari Klier, at kk16@txstate.edu and she will get you all of the information that you need. More information can also be found at www.txstate.edu/drumline.
Color Guard
Membership in the Color Guard is determined by audition. This year, auditions are being held on Saturday May 5, 2012 on our campus. Please read the information pdf for specific information. If you have further questions, please email our color guard coordinator, Ali Martinez at alilmartinez@yahoo.com.
Twirler
The Bobcat Marching Band has positions for up to two qualified feature twirlers. Auditions will be held on Saturday April 21, 2012. Contact Dr. Caroline Beatty, Director of Bands, at ccbeatty@txstate.edu for information.
