Concert Band
The Texas State Concert Band meets in both the fall and spring semesters and is open to all students. The ensemble is conducted by band faculty, graduate students in the instrumental conducting program, and outstanding senior level music education students.
Membership in the Concert Band consists of both music and non-music majors. Non-music majors are not required to audition for membership and every student in the university regardless of major is invited and encouraged to participate. One hour of university credit is given to each participating student. The ensemble rehearses on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-7:50 pm. This schedule applies to a two-band system and will be altered if only one band exists in any given semester, most likely to 5:30-6:50 p.m.
The Concert Band performance dates are as follows:
October 5, 2011– Evans Auditorium – 7:30 p.m.
November 16, 2011 – Evans Auditorium – 7:30 p.m.
February 29, 2012 – Evans Auditorium – 7:30 p.m.
April 25, 2012 – Evans Auditorium – 7:30 p.m.
