Medical Anthropology

Prior to joining the Health Administration faculty in 2005, Dr. Strelitz conducted extensive research on the hospitalist system in the San Francisco Bay Area and Central Texas. Additionally, she has participated in qualitative research among diverse groups including gay men in San Francisco and ethnic minorities in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her research has explored a range of health issues including reproductive health, sexual risk taking, chronic illness, and the organization and delivery of health care to the uninsured in the inpatient setting. Her current research interests include cultural competence and patient safety in health care organizations.
