| Jerry Melbye, Full Professor DABFA, FAAFS FACTS Director Dr. Jerry Melbye is the Director of the Forensic Anthropology Center at Texas State and teaches a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate courses including Introduction to Forensic Anthropology, Forensic Osteology, Forensic Techniques, and Forensic Identification. As a member of the Graduate Faculty, he supervises approximately 10 M.A. candidates yearly in the field of Forensic Anthropology. As an educator, Dr. Melbye offers guest lectures on a regular basis to other universities, schools, libraries, and other community based organizations. He organizes workshops annually to law enforcement officers for TCLEOSE credit (Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education). |
Michelle D. Hamilton, Assistant ProfessorDr. Michelle Hamilton received her doctorate from The University of Tennessee, where she specialized in forensic anthropology and bioarchaeology. She worked at the Anthropological Research Facility (a.k.a. “Body Farm”) for over 10 years, and participated in active forensic casework under the training of Drs. William Bass and Murray Marks. For the past eight years she has served on the faculty for The University of Tennessee and the FBI’s annual Human Remains Recovery School, training FBI Agents/ERT members in body recovery techniques, evidence collection, identification, and excavation of clandestine burials and scattered human remains. She is thrilled to join Dr. Melbye and the FACTS program at Texas State University. |
Vicky Melbye, FACTS Coordinator Vicky Melbye is the Coordinator of the Forensic Anthropology Center at Texas State (FACTS). All law enforcement workshops and facility activities are coordinated through her office. She is responsible for the curaton of our collection of human skeletal remains and for the maintenance of our Standard Operating Procedures. |
