The Texas State Allies program promotes awareness and understanding about sexual and gender identities through education and training. While a person who attends the training may never counsel a LGBTQ person, the Texas State Allies program's initial goal is to encourage acceptance within the campus culture. In addition, Texas State Allies focus on creating and sustaining safe places for LGBTQ persons by providing information, working toward eliminating myths, misconceptions and stereotypes and honoring the diversity of the campus community.
