GENERAL STATEMENT
- In order to facilitate the discussion of academic policies and procedures between the Faculty Senate and academic administrators, systematic interactions are necessary. This PPS identifies several such interactions.
SENATE/VPAA INTERACTIONS
- At least twice during each long semester, the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs will invite the Chair of the Faculty Senate to a meeting for the purpose of discussing issues of mutual concern. The Dean of the University may also attend these meetings.
SENATE/COUNCIL OF ACADEMIC DEANS INTERACTIONS
- Once each long semester the Provost will invite the Council of Academic Deans and the Faculty Senate to meet together for discussion of issues of mutual concern. The agenda for this meeting will be assembled jointly by the Chair of the Faculty Senate and the Provost. Records of these meetings will be the responsibility of the Provost office, and minutes of the meetings will be distributed to the Senate members and the Council of Academic Deans.
SENATE/INSTRUCTIONAL COUNCIL INTERACTIONS
- During the fall semester of each year the Dean of the University will invite the Chair of the Faculty Senate to an Instructional Council Meeting in which an agenda item will be a report from the chair of the Faculty Senate. It is expected that such a report would outline issues of concern that the Senate would like to see addressed by academic administrators. The entire Senate will be invited to attend this meeting.
