School Budget Committees |

|
PURPOSE
|
- School budget committees are intended to encourage faculty advice to school deans for those budget decisions that transcend department budgets.
- School budget committees also provide deans the opportunity to explain budget characteristics to faculty.

MEMBERSHIP
|
- At the beginning of each budget cycle each departmental senior faculty will elect one member of the department to serve on the school budget committee.
|
PROCEDURE
|
- Shortly after budget packets are distributed the dean will call a meeting of the school budget committee. The dean will review all the budgets from the school with the committee and solicit suggestions and advice from the committee.
- After the preliminary budget packets have been submitted to the dean, another meeting will be scheduled to review the departmental recommendations. Additional meetings may be scheduled at the dean's discretion.

RESPONSIBILITIES
|
- Each department chair is responsible for ensuring the timely election of a department representative to the school budget committee.
- School deans are responsible for calling the meetings of the committee.
