Job 2008-54 - Associate Professor/Professor
Responsibilities
- Teach graduate courses in Bilingual-Bicultural Studies
- Serve as program coordinator and graduate advisor for Bilingual-Bicultural Studies
- Conduct and publish research in bilingual education
- Plan for recruitment and retention of undergraduate and graduate students in Bilingual-Bicultural Studies
- Develop programs and curricula for bilingual education
- Pursue external funding for bilingual-bicultural programs
- Chair and serve on thesis or doctoral dissertation committees
- Coordinate partnerships with university, community, and government stakeholders
Qualifications
Required:
- Earned doctorate in Education with emphasis in bilingual-bicultural studies, or related fields
- Substantial record of peer-reviewed publications in bilingual-bicultural studies
- Evidence of teaching or leadership experience in K-16 public or private schools in a bilingual or multilingual setting
- Evidence of successful thesis or dissertation committee work
- Demonstrated fluency in speaking, reading, and writing academically in a language other than English
To be considered for the rank of Professor, candidate must meet the requirements for Professor at Texas State University-San Marcos.
Preferred:
For Professor:
- Evidence of successful external grant production
- Evidence of successful leadership experience in university or professional roles
For Associate Professor:
- Evidence of university and professional service
(Successful applicant will receive the appropriate rank and title based on university and department established standards.)
