The Department of Physics at Texas State University – San Marcos invites applications for two tenure track positions at the assistant professor level.

Responsibilities
The department and college have a strong emphasis on materials research with current departmental interests in nanoscale materials characterization, thin film growth, and semiconductor processing. Candidates from all areas of Physics, experimental or theoretical, are encouraged to apply. However, preference will be given to those candidates whose interests compliment the ongoing programs within the Department. Applications from women and minorities are particularly encouraged.

Qualifications
Required:
The successful candidates must have a PhD in Physics or related field. Candidates are expected to pursue an externally-funded research program and establish national recognition in their area of expertise. In addition, the successful candidate will also be expected to support all levels of the department curriculum including innovative teaching with emphasis on applied courses and integrating teaching and research.

Preferred:
Preference will be given to candidates with post-doctoral experience, previous teaching experience, and with an established publication record.
