Responsibilities
The newly established Electrical Engineering program in the Ingram School of Engineering at Texas State University-San Marcos invites applications for a tenured faculty position at the full professor level starting in Fall 2008. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a program of funded research in micro and nano materials and devices, produce a good record of scholarly publication, and exhibit a strong commitment to teaching and professional service. The candidate will also be expected to mentor junior faculty within the EE program and to exhibit a collaborative leadership style that facilitates cooperation and teamwork with the EE faculty, other faculty at Texas State, and faculty at other institutions.
Qualifications
Required:
- A doctorate in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- An established program of funded scholarly research in micro and nano materials and devices or a related area of specialization.
- A good record of scholarly publication.
- Proven ability as an effective teacher.
- Good oral and written English language skills.
Preferred:
- Industrial experience.
- Ability to work across multiple specialties within Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in the development of academic programs.
- Ability to play a significant role in the development of the proposed new Ph.D. program in Materials Science and Engineering at Texas State.
