Job 2008-25 - Assistant/Associate Professor
Responsibilities
This position will involve teaching, research, and service in the Education and Community Leadership program. Specific responsibilities will include teaching graduate courses in the Masters of Education in Education and Community Leadership degree and in the Principal Certification program. The successful candidate will teach courses on both the main campus in San Marcos and at the Round Rock Higher Education Center in Williamson County. Other duties will include supervising field-based practicum students, advising, program governance, and other program-related activities through out the year. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an active research agenda and to provide service to the program, the department, the university, and the profession.
Qualifications
Required:
The applicant must hold an earned doctorate in Educational Administration, Educational Leadership, or a closely related field. Moreover, the applicant must demonstrate the potential for research and publication at the national or international levels. Evidence of potential for research and publication may include articles published in national or international peer-reviewed journals and refereed presentations at national or international conferences. For appointment at the Associate Professor rank, the applicant must document a sustained record of research and publication at the national and/or international levels.
Preferred:
Experience as an educational leader at the campus and/or school district level, experience working with diverse groups and/or communities, a high level of cultural competence, an ability to articulate platforms in education and educational leadership, ability to teach a variety of courses in education and community leadership, ability to work collaboratively with other faculty members, and a record of scholarship in the area of school and community leadership are preferred.
