Job 2008-24 - Assistant/Associate Professor
Responsibilities
This position will involve teaching, research, and service in the Education Ph.D. program. Specific responsibilities include teaching graduate courses in the Ph.D. program in School Improvement and, as needed, in the Masters of Education in Education and Community Leadership program. The successful candidate is expected to maintain a strong research and publication record and to provide service to the program, the department, the university, and the profession. Other duties include supervising and serving on dissertation committees, advising students, and actively engaging in other program-related activities.
Qualifications
Required:
The applicant must hold an earned doctorate in Educational Leadership or a related field. The applicant must demonstrate potential for research and publication at the national or international levels. For appointment at the Associate Professor rank, the applicant must have a documented record of sustained research and publication at the national and/or international levels.
Preferred:
Preferred qualifications include experience serving on dissertation committees, experience teaching graduate courses in educational leadership, and a history of productively collaborating with faculty and students. Additional preferred qualifications are expertise in school-community collaborative, leadership experience at the campus or district level, and teaching experience in K-12 schools. Knowledge and experience related to working with diverse communities and a high level of cultural competence that includes understanding of shifting demographics, race, class, and gender issues are strongly preferred.
